ABOUT THE BRAND Takumi

The art of analogue sound.

Audiophile craftsmanship inspired by Japan

Takumi is a brand specialising in the creation of audiophile turntables and MC cartridges, combining Japanese craftsmanship philosophy with European engineering precision. Its name means "master craftsman" in Japanese, which perfectly reflects the character of the products – refined, elegant, and designed for maximum fidelity in music reproduction.

Brand philosophy: "Master the Moment"

Takumi was born from the idea that the true beauty of music reveals itself only when audio equipment can convey the subtlest nuances of a recording. The brand refers to the Japanese concept of takumi – a complete focus, years of practice, and the pursuit of perfection in one chosen craft.

As artist Nahoko Kojima emphasises, the essence of takumi is a deep understanding of the art, achieved through years of work and absolute dedication to one field.

STYLE

Gramofony Takumi są ponadczasowe i wydajne

Takumi turntables create a cohesive duo of analogue designs crafted for a natural, musical sound. Model Takumi TT 2.1 offers stable mechanics, precise bearing and quiet operation of the drive, making it a great entry point into the world of audiophile vinyl. The higher model, TT 3.1 develops this concept by adding a more advanced chassis design, better resonance control, and the ability to use higher-end arms and cartridges, resulting in greater detail and a deeper soundstage. Both turntables share Takumi's characteristic attention to craftsmanship, minimalist aesthetics, and emphasis on pure, analogue sound.

History and creator: Rik Stoet

The Takumi brand is the work of Rik Stoet, a Dutch electrical engineer who built tube amplifiers since 1993 before focusing on turntable design.

His first Takumi models – simple yet brilliantly designed – quickly gained recognition for their exceptional sound and build quality, and a limited series of one hundred units sold out rapidly. This encouraged Stoet to develop the brand and create analogue systems that combine great sound, ergonomics, and attractive pricing.
